|Concert No. 6 in the series "Music From Around the World"|
The Master Quartet Ensemble performs Russian folk music sections
in special arrangements for ensemble and orchestra by Yaron Gottfried.
The ensemble, whose members immigrated to Israel from the former Soviet Union, has enjoyed great success in recent years in Israel and is regularly invited to perform in the most important festivals and concert halls in Israel (Abu Gosh Festival, the Tel Aviv Museum and the Israel Museum).
The ensemble’s success in Israel led to an invitation to represent Israel at a Russian folk music festival in Paris. The members of the group are all professional musicians, graduates of high-level music academies in St. Petersburg, Gorky and Moscow.
The group's members specialize in performing works typical of the Russian folklore, alongside special adaptations of South American, Balkan, Gypsy, classical and light music.
Yaron Gottfried is a conductor, pianist and composer who creates bridges between classical and contemporary music. Gottfried often performs as a conductor, composer and pianist with the best orchestras in Israel and abroad. Winner of the Prime Minister's Award for Composers 2014, his work is published by Sikorsky International Music Publishers and has been performed by many orchestras and at many different festivals.
