On June 30 and July 2 the Israel Sinfonietta Beer-Sheva performs the closing festive concert of the season of the Classica series. This time, Sinfonietta subscribers participated in choosing the repertoire!
The participants took part in a vote at the beginning of the season, in which three Mozart operas were offered. "The Marriage of Figaro" received the most votes. It is one of the most important operas of all times, the summit of European cultural creativity. The music was written by Mozart and the libretto by de Ponte.
The concert will be conducted by Maestro Adi Bar, an Israeli conductor who is well-known in Europe.
“The Marriage of Figaro” is no less than a revolutionary opera, which changed Western thought patterns. In this opera, which was based on a play by Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, the status of the aristocracy is repudiated and mocked, in brilliant verse and clever music. It foreshadowed the era of the French Revolution. To this day this work of genius still contains social messages cloaked in Mozart’s music that captures the hearts of all its audiences.
In these festive final concerts, excellent Israeli singers in spectacular costumes will join the orchestra:
Figaro, the Count’s valet – Yair Polishook (baritone)
Susanna, the Countess’ maid, betrothed to Figaro – Daniela Skorka (soprano)
Dr. Bartolo, a physician – Pnini Leon Grovner (bass)
Marcellina, a lady in the court – Zlata Khershberg (mezzo soprano)
Cherubino, a young boy, page to the Count – Tal Ganor (soprano)
The Count Almaviva – Oded Reich (baritone)
Don Basilio, music teacher – Eitan Drori (tenor)
Countess Almaviva – Gan-Ya Ben Gur Axelrod (soprano)
Antonio, the gardener, Susanna’s uncle – Gabriel Lowenheim (baritone)
Don Curzio, a judge – Eitan Drori (tenor)
