Folk music from India

This concert, the third in the high quality series for all the family presented by the Israel Sinfonietta and Chen Zimbalista, takes us to colorful and exotic realms: a mixture of compositions and flavors of the Far East in
tandem with a dance troupe from Rajasthan, the tabla and a chamber orchestra. We are hosting the Kathak Academy dance troupe “Nad Roop” directed by its famous dance mistress, Guru Shama Bhata. The dancers will
present a varied repertoire of traditional and modern Indian music styles that are characteristic of various regions, showcasing customs of India’s rich culture. The Indian table player, Charudatta Phadke will perform, in
cooperation with the Indian Embassy, marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Israel.
